Dr. Kathy Winston Rabago holds a DMA degree in music education, piano pedagogy from UT-Austin, where she studied with Martha Hilley and Betty Mallard. She also holds a MM in piano performance from SMU and a BM in piano performance from Trinity University. Her research in the field of technology and piano pedagogy has led her to present studies at the Music Teachers' National Assocation (MTNA) national conference, Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI), Texas Music Educators' Association (TMEA), and also publish findings in American Music Teacher, Roland Keyboard Educator, Piano Pedagogy Forum, and Keyboard Companion. Dr. Rabago has worked in many facets of the pedagogical world, including interning for the director of education at the Kennedy Center, and leading a team of software designers for an internet-based music company. She currently is music director at Christ Our Savior Lutheran church and runs a full private studio in Cedar Park, TX, incorporating technology aspects such as MP3 recording, computer aided improvisation and visual score analysis in all of her lessons.
